
Penn Math Contest
Penn Math Contest V registration is now open!
Format: We offer both in-person and virtual options. More details about both options will be sent out to registrants after the registration deadline (April 3, 2026). The tournament consists of both individual and team rounds. Subject matter includes, but is not limited to: algebra, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics. No calculus.
Date/Time: Saturday, April 18, 2026. Check-in is 9:00-9:45AM ET. Anyone arriving after 10:10AM will be disqualified from the individual tournament. The tournament should end around 6PM. All contest times are based on Eastern Time, so convert to the appropriate time zone if you are participating online.

Eligibility: All pre-collegiate students (K–12) are eligible to compete. While most contestants are high school students, we have welcomed participants as young as third grade.
What to Bring: Pencil/pen. Water bottle. No calculators are permitted. Lunch will be provided.
Cost/Payment: There is no fee for registration.
Parking: A limited number of parking passes for campus garages are available for in-person competitors. Please indicate your request in the designated section of the form. We will confirm availability by email.

The Penn Math Contest is a completely student-run competition designed to engage high school students in math while building an inclusive community full of fun and challenging experiences. Our team at the University of Pennsylvania is passionate about spreading a love of math—both locally in Philadelphia and to students around the world.
PMC offers multiple contests throughout the year, including individual and team challenges, with problems suited for all levels—from beginners to experienced math competitors. Participants can join in person on Penn’s campus or online, and winners receive prizes or certificates. We encourage everyone to participate, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of problem-solving!
